大学英语比赛演讲稿篇1
good morning, ladies and gentlemen. today i want to tell you a story about one of my friends, a lovely and smart girl who is always ready to help others. being our grade leader, she is good at both work and study. in many people's opinion, she is excellent and perfect. but one day she told me she was gloomy and insecure. people around her considered her outstanding and flawless, thinking she could handle everything. but the more she thought about herself, the more disappointed she became. she found that she was far from perfection. last week, she didn’t do well in her french quiz, and the day before yesterday, she was late for a conference. she felt depressed and frustrated, because she failed to be a perfect girl without any mistakes.
i was surprised to hear that for i thought she had every reason to be confident. however, the expectation of perfection has become a burden to her. i told her no one could be perfect and i suggested she find her own position.
in fact, people are so eager to be perfect that they demand too much of themselves. they want to be special and unique, and they want to have no defects or weaknesses. however, we can never avoid mistakes and errors. it’s impossible for us to be a superman or a superwoman. no matter how successful we are, there are always some flaws. if we hold that everything should be perfect, we would be overcritical.
my friend now has changed her attitude. she accepts her shortcomings but still keeps a positive outlook. she is even more active and doesn’t allow the mistakes to hinder her pursuit of excellence. and i think that’s the way we should be!that’s all. thank you!

honorable teachers, ladies and gentlemen, and my fellow sutdents:
good morning! it’s my pleasure to stand here to make a speech. first of all , let me introduce myself. my name is tongyao. i am from class 2 grade 7 in chenggong middle school ! today , my topic is : "innovative thinking"
have you ever thought that what is innovative thinking ? somebody will said ,"thinking something different !" in fact, it’s not so simple. have you ever thought how to think something different ? now , let me explain it to you in detail !
first , we should admit that innovative ideas do start in one mind before taking on the world. only in this way ,we have the power of innovation . for example , the radio, television, telephone and so on, all were developed by scientists . and these scientists all had the ability and courage to think something different . it is a well know fact that albert einstein was the mastermind of the nuclear bombs .
second , we should be good at discovering , and be able to break the conventions. sometimes, there are a lot of subjects of innovation around us . but more often we lack the ability of discovering so, only if we be good at discovering and summing up ,we can innovate lly, i want to say , as a middle school student in the new century, we must have the courage and confidence to make innovations.)and we should study hard for development of our country ! because we are the builders of our motherland !
honorable teachers, ladies and gentlemen, and my fellow sutdents, according to what i have said above , have you learnt more about the "innovative thinking" ? of course ,you have ! i believe my speech is perfect ! and i also believe that as long as we expand our thinking , we will find something different . that’ s all ! thank you for your listening!

i am tripping my elephant here
once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “hey, chicken! watch out your leg, it’s out!” the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: “ shi…i am going to trip that elephant.”
right now, i’m standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i don’t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that i’ve been through i’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.

distinguished judges, teachers, dear friends:
hello, everybody! my name is, i come from. today, i am very glad to stand here and share with you my most sincere speech‘flying youth, master our future!’
life is a process of growing up. saying goodbye to childhood, we step into another important time of life‘the youth’.however, who can really say what the youth is ? a period of time? a belief? an attitude to life? or anything else? we don’t know.
a famous poet said ‘ youth is a lovely song ,where nothing is impossible ; youth is a meaningful book, you’ll be never bored of it ;youth is a rapid river ,it keeps on flowing day and night ;youth is a cup of tea ,it shows you different kinds of tastes in your life. ’
as youth is so precious, of course, we must treasure it .don’t let the limited time pass by, leaving nothing of significance to our future. actually, youth has a lot to do with our future. it’s necessary for us to prepare ourselves well for the future to come. so, what should we do? here ,i’ll point out some tips to help equip ourselves
first of all, recognize the direction of your future. in other word, think of what you’d like to be some day. a teacher ? a doctor ? a writer? don’t afraid of thinking big and great .since you are young , you can dream of doing anything and becoming anyone in the future
what’s more , never ignore the power of knowledge. read more books and travel around. for one thing, it can increase your knowledge, for another, it’ll broaden your horizon.
last but not the least , stick to your dream. it easier said than done. after all, future is not all roses. so, we should have enough courage and determination to overcome all the difficulties.
i firmly believe one sentence that‘if you think you can, of course you can!’just believe we can make it! keep on walking towards our dream. flying youth ,master our future. from today, from now on ,from dumping middle school ! ready ?
that’s all. thank you so much for your attention !

the east and the west, lets enjoy the combination of the two cultures? kipling said:―east is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!‖ but now, a century later, they have met. they have met in business.
they have met in education. they have met in the arts. some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but i believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. we can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. we can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.
i love beijing and hennan opera because it always reminds me of who i am. but i am also a fan of pop music, especially english songs. so i have combined eastern melody with western language. it is called western henna opera.
when two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. when this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. then there are certain things some people may not like. to this, i will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. to learn to tolerate what you personally dont like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. at present, they may run in different courses. but eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.
right now, i can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! thank you!

the difficulties young chinese university graduates have had in finding a job over the past few months have been making the headlines in the media and causing concern throughout society. education professionals in china have all had something to say about it.
a good number of them, referring to the current phase of social transition in china, have come out in favour of the mass education programme that has been practised in recent years in chinese universities. others have raised doubts about the reliability of the figure of only 70% as the rate of employment for new graduates, which they consider to be alarmist. in fact, according to the statistics provided by the ministry of education itself, out of the 2.12 million graduates in the general higher education sector in 20xx, 640,000 had not signed a work contract by the end of their studies in these circumstances, it is understandable that in the current labour market in shanghai, for example, new university graduates are settling for a monthly salary of 1,200 yuan, slightly more than double shanghai’s minimum wage, at the same time as they are having to face significant overheads (superannuation, unemployment insurance, health insurance, etc.).
if we take into account the cost of living in shanghai (including accommodation, transport and telecommunications), it would appear that the salary of these graduates is barely enough to cover their basic needs . the purpose of this article is to better understand the current unemployment of young graduates, beyond any proposals being put forward in the context of higher education reform.
