in this way, jane eyre grew up in solitude. she was poor, short, and not very impressive, but with a strong, noble heart, she was proud of herself and became a tutor. the owner of the family was very gentle and he was so kind to jane that they soon fell in love with each other. however, when they really loved each other, jane found the owner and wife, jane eyre unwilling to become a mistress, she left sadly. later, the host was killed in the fire because his mad wife set fire to the manor, and his master was blind as a result. when the host was desperate and lonely, jane eyre returned to the host's side. after all the hardships, they finally won the most sincere and precious love.
how can you see the rainbow without the wind and rain? this is a true portrayal of jane eyre. she has gone through ups and downs, and finally won the most sincere love. the book has a striking contrast between the beginning and the end of the book, and highlights the point that if you put in effort and sweat, there will always be good results. from a little girl to a slim girl, jane eyre, the only constant is good, strong and confident. she takes a heart gao jie, maintaining self-esteem of female image, loved by readers, which is one of the reasons for this book for one hundred years the unfailing.

书的英文读后感篇2
the story happened in boston about 200 years ago. it narrates love affairs between three persons. the punished woman. hester prynne and his husband. who called himself roger chillingworth . he is an old misshapen man and a doctor. hester does not love him at all. another man is a young minister, dimmesdale, who has a high position among ministers and is highly respected among his people in town. hester and dimmesdale love each other. but their love is forbidden in that time . it is sinful. due to this, hester is punished by society with a letter a on her chest, which considered an evil,a shame.
in this novel, the mainline seems to be around the letter a. hester is brave enough to face the cruel reality. she is always with a mind of courage. she has been alone with her child for so long ,with litter communication. shame! hopelessness! loneliness! hester has to wear the letter a day after day, seven years as for punishment and ill fame.
when a woman has lived through a difficult experience, her character changes a great deal. if she be all tenderness, she will die. if she survive, the tenderness will leave her .hester’s charitable deeds and quiet humility have earned her a reprieve from the scorn of the community. the letter on her chest represents her work on earth ,always helping others, without expecting any thanks. never afterwards, does that scarlet letter leave her chest. the townspeople no longer view the letter as a punishment ,but rather as representing her great strength and bravery and thy say it means “able”.
but arthur dimmesdale, his sin against hester and pearl is that he will not acknowledge them as his wife and daughter in the daylight. he keeps his dreadful secret from all those under his care in the church for seven years for fear that he will lose their love and will not be forgiven. he is too weak to admit his sins. he suffers from mysterious heart trouble, seemingly caused by psychological distress. what’s worse,he is an advisor to the townspeople about their sins.
after mr. dimmesdale’s death ,no one changes more in appearance than roger chilling worth. all his strength and energy has been used to harm his patient . this unhappy man has made his aim in life to add to the suffering of the young minister. when the evil old man no longer has such a purpose, the devil takes him back to the hell . it is a curious subject of observation, however, whether hatred or love are not of the same place. each takes a great deal of emotion from one person. the two feelings seem basically the same, expect that one is smiled upon by god, while the other is worshipped by the devil.
书的英文读后感篇3
this is a fairytale whose distribution volume is only second to the bible. itsquo;s been translated to versions of many other languages. and i gather there must be something special, something really great about it. itsquo;s this conviction that drove me to read it at the first beginning. well, with due respect to the author, i failed to see how this fairytale be worthy of our attention, despite the fact that many readers claimed this book to be designed for adults.
anyway, as a well-acknowledged book, it must possess unique feature to maintain itsquo;s position. and itsquo;s reputation and popularity will by no means be destroyed by what an unknown man says. i will talk about the main contents of the book, and the inspiration it renders as usual.
this book mainly tells us the experience of a prince from a tiny planet, who traveled to many other planets and finally came to the earth and met the pilot in a desert. the prince and the pilot became good friends, and the pilot gradually got to know the feeling and experience of his friend. before he came to the earth, little prince had been to other 6 little planets where he made acquaintance with some strange people. the first man he met was a king on a little planet, yet he claimed to be the king of the space and ridiculously justified his unshakable governance over all. the second person was a man of vanity, who enjoyed compliments of any form without considering whether itsquo;s sincere or not. the third person was an alcoholic who tried to forget the fact that hesquo;s addicted to acohol by drinking like a fish. the fourth person was an abosolute money-oriented businessman, who cared nothing but his fortune. next came the lamp-lighter who performed his duty blindly. the last one was a geographer who knew too much about geography to solve a real problem related to it. these six people each represented one kind of person like us. the author satirized peoplesquo;s conceit, emptiness, fakeness, innocence and blindness through the tone of a child.
i see eye to eye with the author in that the cause of peoplesquo;s loneliness can be concluded to the negligence of the bonds that connects them. people are supposed to care about each other, cherish whatsquo;s really important for them, and be grateful for the happiness that theysquo;ve gained. we all believe knowledge and experience enable us to see clearly and make right judgements all the time. but we may sometimes lose the right to speak straighforwardly, think creatively or love courageously resulting from what wesquo;ve experienced. that why in our middle school textbooks, itsquo;s the little kid that breaks the illusion of the emperor by saying but mum, he ainsquo;t were anything.
when i was a child, i was definitely a good boy who went home on time after school and did his homework and never tried anything without momsquo;s permission. and now i am a grown-up, and still i am a good man, at least, thatsquo;s what i heard. sometimes when i was lonely and i began to think about my childhood, then all the happiness and care-free life came back to me as it were yesterday. kids that once accompanied me during my childhood now become fathers and mothers of their kids and i myself am a child no more. thinking about all these things have made me moody. theresquo;re changes happening in our lives whether we are happy about it or not.
people told me life is a journey which will never stop once itsquo;s started. whatsquo;s left behind are happiness and sorrow, pride and shame, success and regret. theresquo;s good old time to reminisce and theresquo;s sad hours that reminds us of the pain. your feeling makes them real, and you know you lived.
i want to conclude by saying some positive words that each yestersday used to be today, and each today is the future of yesterday, so making the most of today is the best way to cherish your lives. our mortal beings are doomed to die. itsquo;s not sad, instead, death itsquo;s just a process of our lives. after all, wesquo;ve lived our lives and itsquo;s what we do and how we think that determine who we are.
书的英文读后感篇4
wuthering heights, the only fiction of emily bronte, was published in 1847. it is a story about love and revenge. after finishing the novel, most people including me would appreciate heathcliff for his pure, simple and untamed love which would never change until death. on the other hand, it is difficult to understand his abnormal, callous and his love for catherine. heathcliff was an illiberal and unscrupulous person. he loved catherine and was willing to give up everything for her. in the north of england where the wind blew hard, the black and dirty child, heathcliff, fell in love with a little girl, catherine who gave him love and also misery.
wuthering heights is an ideal heaven for those misanthropists to escape from the real life. in this beautiful but desolate world, heathcliff as a stranger appeared. when he was 6 or 7 years old and at the edge of starving, mr. earnshaw, the owner of wuthering heights, saved him. heathcliff’s childhood was unfortunate. before he came to the wuthering heights, he was almost dead. when he was at mr. earnshaw’s home, he was bullied and maltreat by mr. earnshaw’s son, hindley earnshaw. however, at that moment, catherine earnshaw saved him, and everything became different. catherine was a crazy and wild girl. the writer described as follows: her spirits were always at high-water mark, her tongue always going--singing, laughing, and plaguing everybody who would not do the same. a wild, wicked slip she was. however, she was goodness and pretty. the relationship between them was developing under the lack of civilized education. their life was tightly held together, they had to face hindley. but their friendship broke when catherine was 12 years old, when she met edgar linton a wealthy and handsome boy from thrushcross grange. three years later, she agreed to marry edger. in heathcliff’s mind, it was edgar who bore away his love. thus, when he came back to wuthering heights and began his cruel revenge.
catherine lost her childhood at the time when she started to consider her future. she totally knew that it was impossible to be together with heathcliff. she had to find the future, a wealthy, handsome husband who could give her steady life and reputation while heathcliff had nothing. but when she married edgar, she didn’t feel happy at all. she remembered that she had betrayed heathcliff and herself. money and house brought her into nothingness. she began to cherish the memory of heathcliff, cherished the little boy stood by her. there was no etiquette and standard but sincerity. in the wuthering heights, happiness was gone forever. because of hindley, heathcliff lost the chance to learn and he was almost lost himself. fortunately, catherine did not give up him. he abandoned himself for his self-abased. in their love, even at that storming night, heathcliff left. they never thought about their future, their life. thus, shall we ask that love should be based on what? catherine loved edgar, but she also said to nelly: you think me a selfish wretch; but did it never strike you that if heathcliff and i married, we should be beggars? whereas, if i marry linton, i can aid heathcliff to rise, and place him out of my brother"s power. before the difficulty, she chose to confront. on the contrary, heathcliff chose to escape, because he had no courage to overcome it. catherine was 15 while heathcliff was 16, they were children. they didn’t understand what love was. they just found the happiness they had in common.
we can suppose that if heathcliff didn’t leave, and he lived with catherine, were they happy? were they at ease? what life did they live? can they run crazily on the wild land? catherine looked down upon heathcliff’s cowardice, once she talked about heathcliff to isabella: tell her what heathcliff is: an unreclaimed creature, without refinement, without cultivation: an arid wilderness of furze and whinstone. but she had never suspected her courage. she loved heathcliff undoubtedly, but she was afraid to be with him. heathcliff had questioned her: you teach me now how cruel you"ve been--cruel and false. why did you despise me? why did you betray your own heart, catherine? if they loved each other, why did cheat their heart? compared with catherine, is heathcliff more forgivable for his insistence and self-abased?
in the end, catherine died. she was 19, and heathcliff was 20. however, the story was not end. after catherine’s death, heathcliff was not likable. his maniac revenge seemed no endless. he even took vengeance on their children. is this love? is this resentment? did heathcliff love catherine more or he hate the world more? what did he revenge for? does for catherine or him? they tortured each other, but they still loved each other. we can not find out the answer. but we can know that at last, they finally stayed with each other and no one can take them apart. and if she had been dissolved into earth, or worse, what would you have dreamt of then?" i said. of dissolving with her, and being more happy still!" he answered. no matter how much misunderstanding, regret and pain they received before, now they rest in peace. just like catherine said: whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.
when i finished reading this book and begin to chew the profound meaning and the essence in this book, i find that i have learned a lot of life truth. for my part, love is to learn tolerance. if you really fall in love with someone, you will understand if she or he can get happiness and have ever loved you, that is enough. reading a classic is a really tired and joyful thing. when i am moved by the figure’s emotion, i will feel sad and also gain enlightenment. in addition, which moves me most is that it teaches me to keep the dignity of life and the heart of freedom. no matter how austere the challenge we meet, we should yearn for freedom.

“pride and prejudice,” the feeling after reading
“pride and prejudice” is the famous british writer jane austen masterpiece, the works in daily life for material, the romantic and reality love story. works of vivid reflects the late eighteenth to well into the nineteenth century in the conservative and block state of the british town life and ways of the world. its social graffiti novel at that time if not only attracts the general reader, real to this day, still give the reader a unique art enjoyment. first of all, from story to see, elizabeth resourcefulness, have courage, these have vision, have very strong self-respect, and be good at thinking. just then a an unmarried ladies the lady of speaking, this is valuable. and also it is this quality, just make her in love have independent initiative, and led to her and happy family of darcy. in my opinion, elizabeth is worthy of praise. in the way of the pursuit of love, be sure to a firm belief, not for money, fame, wealth, or any other cause carelessly decided to, want to hold to find true love. if the other party to some of the defect is himself can't stand, but also what can't change it, you should give up the resolute choice; of course should also to cherish each other, not because of some of the others words, they change their decision, happiness to yourself to the business. this is the book want to communicate to the world is very precious words, is also to the heart of the pursuit of love chicken soup. reading this book, i be a lifetime earnings, enjoy the spiritual baptism.

书的英文读后感篇7
it is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of jane austen's novels is the choice people make for marriage partners, so is in pride and prejudice. mrs. bonnet had no other wish if her five daughters could get married as soon as possible with someone wealthy. at a dancing ball, it is obvious that mr. bingley could not help falling in love at the first sight with miss jane because of her stunning beauty. mrs. benne was so excited that she could not hold her manner and declared publicly she would ha一ve a daughter married soon, which frightened mr. bingley away. mr. collins, a distance nephew of mr. bennet, came to ask a marriage to one of his cousins before mrs. bennet was able to get clear why mr. bingley left suddenly.
after receiving the hint from mrs. bennet that jane already had an admirer, mr. collins turned to elizabeth without wasting a minute and to miss charlotte lucas two days later after refused by elizabeth. it was difficult for mrs. bennet to recover herself as a result of the“deadly stupid” decision made by elizabeth until she got the news that lydia finally married mr. wickham, though the marriage was built on the basis of ten thousand pounds. mr. darcy offered the money and did everything departing from his will just because he loved elizabeth so much. he could not hide his feelings any more and showed his affection to elizabeth at last, who, because of a series of misunderstandings towards him, rejected him without hesitation. this plot is the climax of the novel as the prejudice of elizabeth to mr. darcy was exposed and removed since then. and the combination of the two young couples, jane and bingley, elizabeth and darcy came at last.
